I liked to visit this biggest Balkan country since 3 years ago, but I had so many plans so that difficult to find the right time. Hoped for sunny days in the spring, but in fact is the opposite, cold and rainy days when I was there, honestly a bit sad cause it’s difficult to get a good photographs with the blue sky background. Most of the tourist attractions in Romania are closed on Monday, since they have the highest volume of visitors on weekend so Monday is like a break day for them. Fly with low cost air Blueair from Stuttgart towards Bucharest, upon arrival at Otopeni airport I went straight to Brasov. The social conditions of the Romanians more like second world country, public transportations are also unmaintenanced.
The next day, rode the public bus from Brasov Autogara to Bran. After visiting the famous Bran castle, I continued the journey to Rasnov a small town with a unique citadelnya, the bus from Bran heads to Rasnov only up to the hill’s ground, the rest I had to walk up about 30 minutes to reach Rasnov Fortress.
From Rasnov I came back to Brasov train station and was going to continue my trip to Sighisoara the birth city of Vlad Dracula when the train locket officer said, they don’t have the train that I wanted, but the other train would come soon in 30 minutes, I was in hurry so I agreed and bought the ticket, but I couldn’t change the return ticket, coz she said that is the last train from Sighisoara to Brasov. Because the train that I want wasn’t there on that day, I was forced to ride the next train that was uncomfortable, trash everywhere, cigarette smoke mixed with heater in the close wagon, plus small children with their noses melted approached me many times and laughed, what an unusual sight in the blue continent.
I came back to Brasov quite late, had a rest and collect new power for the next day. Early morning I walked around, combed the main street of Brasov old town, before left to Sinaia.
It took more than 1 hour from Brasov to Sinaia, through lot of small Trasylvanian towns, the temperature got down, it was even snowing in Predeal the highest town in Romania.
Arrived in Sinaia train station around 10.30, then I went directly to the famous Sinaia castles, 40 minutes walking till I arrived on the top of the hill where the Pelisor castle is, the locket just opened and I was the first person there, the other castle located just 200m away. Peles castle is maybe three times bigger than Pelisor castle.
In the afternoon I continued my trip to Bucharest the capital city of Romania. Touched down Bucharest just before evening then joined Bucharest free walking.
Bucharest in the morning as messy as other big cities in the world, crowded vechicles congestion in the main roads. Nevertheless, as usual I prefer to use ordinary public transport rather than take a bus sightseeing tour bus. I enjoyed chating and mingling with the local communities along the way. I started my day by visiting Village museum and followed by some others museums in Bucharest. Today was the warmest day since I came in Romania.
This was a tiring trip but worth it to do. Bucharest is the final destination in Romania and I spent my time there till I came back home.
